Getting Started

Here is a quick guide on how to get ready to complete offers on your chosen GPT if you haven't already signed up to one we would recommend Points2Shop.

1. Cookies – These are important and a must to understand!

Cookies are small files that are sent to your computer by the websites/advertisers that you visit. They follow what you do on the websites, and in this case, report back to the advertisers server when you have completed an offer to ensure you get credit. So if your computer does not allow cookies to function, the advertiser does not know when you have completed the offer and may prevent you from getting credit. If you don’t have cookies enabled, chances are you won’t get credit!

Enabling cookies on your computer is fairly simple. To change your settings when using Internet Explorer 6.0+: Tools –> Internet Options –> Privacy tab. Your display should read “Accept all cookies.” Then click the Advanced Tab and make sure that your “Override automatic cookie handling” is NOT checked.

You can also go to How to Enable Cookies, where Google provides instructions for other web browsers.

Clear your Cookies! Clearing your cookies in between offer is very important to help crediting! Always make sure to also clear your cookies AFTER completing or clicking on an offer. Do not clear them anytime during the offer, as this will almost guarantee that you won’t be credited. To clear your cookies, do the following:

Internet Explorer 6.0:
1. Select “Tools” > “Internet Options” > “General”.
2. Under the heading “Temporary Internet Files”, click on “Delete Cookies”.
3. Click “OK” to the “Delete all cookies in the Temporary Internet Files folder?” prompt.
4. Click “OK” to exit.
Internet Explorer 7.0+:
1. Click on “Tools” > “Internet Options” > “General”.
2. Click the “Delete” button.
3. Under the heading “Cookies”, click on “Delete Cookies”.
4. Click “Yes” for the “Delete all cookies in the Temporary Internet Files folder?” prompt.
5. Click “Close” to exit.

You may also choose to download a program called CCleaner. This program automatically deletes your cookies and history so you don’t have to do it manually.

If you use Firefox, get CookieCuller, then you do not have to exit your browser when clearing cookies.

Also pressing SHIFT+CTRL+DEL will work

2. Firewalls and Anti-Virus software

You will also want to check and make sure that if you have any virus protection programs such as McAfee, Norton, Symantec, etc, or spyware protection software such as Spy Sweeper, that these programs are not blocking third-party cookies. It is recommended that you turn them off completely before completing offers to enable a higher chance of getting credit.

3. Repeating Offers

If you have already completed similar offers on another site, or have completed the same offer on another site, you will not be able to get credit here for it. Advertisers are paying money for new leads, not repeat customers. If they see someone that has done an offer previously on another site, they wont pay for your lead again. This is why GPT Tracker is helpful!

4. Timing – Don’t complete the same offers in a row

This one is often the problem. For example, if you complete a “Quiz Jungle” offer and get credit and then complete another “Quiz Jungle” offer very soon after, chances are you will not get credit for the 2nd one you completed. Allow time in between offers when completing similar surveys/offers. Many times, this will greatly increase your chances of getting credit. Also note, some advertisers do only allow a few surveys to credit per day, so you may not be able to complete all of a specific survey(s) in the same day.

5. Leave windows open – don’t rush

This is a common mistake. When completing surveys and offers, allow time for the windows to fully load on each page. Advertisers naturally want you to view the whole page as it was intended, so when you close windows before they even load, they don’t want to give you credit! You don’t have to leave them open long, just long enough to fully load and move on.

6. Always check your email for confirmations

Many advertisers send a confirmation to your email address to make sure you used a valid email address. With some surveys, if you don’t click the confirmation link in that email, the offer will not credit. More and more advertisers are starting to send confirmation emails, so don’t forget to always check.

7. Use different email addresses

This is very important! You must use a different email address frequently to ensure a higher credit ratio. We suggest using a different email for EVERY offer to greatly increase credit chances. We know this is a hassle, but it pays off big! Remember to only use valid email addresses that you own! Many advertisers will not credit multiple offers if they discover it is from the same email address. You can use guerillamail to create temporary e-mail addresses.

A Few Important Rules To Remember:

  • Always use accurate and truthful information when completing offers.

  • If you have completed an offer on another site, you cannot complete it again on another site

  • Your account information must be accurate and kept up to date.

  • Only one account per household is allowed. Although most GPT's allow you to sign in to your account from a different computer from the one you signed up with, this could cause your account to be “flagged” and proper ID may be requested to confirm the account. It is best to use the original computer signed up from.

  • Proxy servers are never allowed on any GPT! In addition, do not use Netscape or AOL as these providers use proxy servers and may result in your account being terminated.

  • If you use a web accelerator, we suggest shutting it down while completing offers. Many times this software can reduce the amount of offers credited.
